today I lost my best friend...
the little man that has been with me
through thick and thin
for 17 years
he was my confidant
and my pleasure
while I feel a need to tell people
I don't have words or patience for sorrow
I am bereft
I want for everyone
to be healthy and wealthy and wise
I want people to stop the childish bickering
I want food on everyone's table
and I want world peace dammit
but mostly
I want that little brown bundle of joy back

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your little man. These little souls with 4 legs that work their way into our hearts and give unconditionally of themselves are very hard to lose. They are a part of who we are and are a part of our lives.

I am so sorry that he is gone from your life my friend. He has left many wonderful memories behind and lived a long and loved life with you. I know the feeling of aloneness all too well -- my Mikey died at 16 and she was truly my best friend ever. Hugs from Bee
