have emailed me
explaining why
it's perfectly
alright
for you to be friends
with all of them

the immoral ones
the manipulators
the professional victims
the liars
the cheats
the thieves in our lives

I'm tired of you hurting me
with them

let me tell you this though
because this I know to be true....

you wouldn't have taken the time
to bother to speak to me
on the subject
if in some way
you didn't feel guilty

and if you feel guilty
you know what you are doing
is hurtful and wrong
and you choosing to
continue to do so
in itself
is all the truth I need.
