Mother's Day

this is the first year
in the 35 years
since I gave my daughter
up for adoption
that I seem to be having
a problem around
this "Hallmark holiday"

could be that it's cos
Mercury is in retrograde
could be the recent upheaval
in my life
could be the knowledge
of her that I have this year
knowledge that
I'd never had before

I don't know...
I just know that I'm sad

I found an absolutely moving

that I regularly read
